Project Description

We are situated in the ‘old’ part of Darling in amongst the grand Victorian houses. By trying to be Eco-friendly, we have built a Sandbag house, which you would never know from the outside! We chose to build on this site because of it’s stunning views of a Reserve where we frequently spot a few Zebra and Springbok, Ormonde Wine Farm and their vineyard, plus a bit of an Olive Grove. We are truly blessed with our view and are always appreciative of it.

Darling has so much to offer. We have 4 wine farms, an olive farm, a brewery, an orchid farm, a cheese factory, the best Darling toffee ever. There is a very informative museum. Daisy Darling art gallery. We have the legendary Evita. The Perron where various other shows are held. And don’t forget the annual Wild Flowers in September, the Voorkamerfest in September, Rocking the Daisies in October. Our Darling Tourism website will keep you updated on all the events.

Your hosts are me, Glenda, a background in Accounts, and Hutch, an ex Diver. Hutch has recently started experimenting on various quirky ways of growing vegetables. He loves to potter around in ‘his’ garden so let’s hope he actually produces something…. I have recently learnt how to cook you a decent breakfast!!

We offer a spacious 1 bedroom with en-suite. The accommodation includes:

Clean room
Extra length Queen size bed and comfortable mattress
Hanging space and shelving
Tea and Coffee making facility in the room
Free Wi-Fi
En-suite with very large shower
Towels, hand soap, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner are all available
Own private entrance
Own private patio to chill or drink your morning beverage
A breakfast of many options: Cereal, yoghurt, juice, home made bread, and then the full breakfast…. Plus fruit! We will NOT let you leave us hungry!
