West Coast Horse Trails is situated on the farm Wolwefontein on the R315 between Darling and Yzerfontein, offering horse trail rides to all levels of riders.
We founded our horse trails in Stellenbosch in 2011 and after operating on the lovely wine estates there, offering mainly horseback wine tours, we have now relocated at the beginning of 2020 to the West Coast. The area is vast and beautiful, offering breathtaking beach rides on the 16 Mile Beach at Yzerfontein, rural farm experiences riding your horse in between sheep and cattle or for the more adventurous on some of the game farms in the area.
Darling also has well known wine estates that can be visited on horseback for some local wine tasting with a cheese platter or lunch. And then the flower season, August and September every year, when this semi arid area turns into carpets of flowers. Multi day trail rides will also be on offer, exploring a different countryside every day and over-nighting in local accommodation establishments or in tented camps with the best local cuisine served to you after a long day in the saddle.
Our horses are mainly Arabian bred horses with some Anglo Arabs. All the riding gear is supplied, tack and safety helmets and the horses are fit and well mannered and can cater for the novice to experienced rider.
